After the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990, we seem to have forgotten about Failaka Island. I finally decided to pay it a visit by make reservation at the tour office in Marina Crescent on the same day of voyage. The ferry left the shore at the exact time, and the trip took about 35 minutes to reach Failaka’s shore. It costs 15.000 K.D for one person for both ways, a lunch buffet, and a ride to and from from Heritage Village.

At Heritage Village, you can do whatever you like, such as, having lunch, praying, visiting the zoo, visiting the palace, rent a jet ski or buggy, and so on.

Although I really enjoyed my trip there, I was left very sad for the destruction I witnessed that is still present since the war. I wish someone would invest in the island and build a resort.
